My name is Tony Johnson and I am very excited to introduce myself as the principal at TCU Lonsdale Elementary. This year marks my ninth year in education. Previously I have served as a middle school special education teacher, a district instructional coach serving students and teachers K-12, an elementary instructional coach, and dean of students. I am very thankful for all of my experiences and I look forward to continuing to learn to best serve the Lonsdale community and TCU school district.
My education includes a degree in elementary education along with a special education endorsement from Iowa State University, a Masters in Teacher Leadership and Professional Development from Drake University as well as a Graduate Certificate in Educational Administration and K-12 Principal License from St. Mary’s University.
As the principal of TCU Lonsdale Elementary, I am committed to furthering our district’s mission to empower learners, create opportunities, and unite so everyone can achieve success. At Lonsdale, we will work collaboratively to ensure that we provide a rigorous curriculum as well as establish meaningful relationships to meet the needs of each student as an individual. I am committed to serving all stakeholders in the Lonsdale community and TCU school district to provide the best educational experience possible.
I live in New Prague with my wife, Erin, and two children, Jace (2) and Brooks (10 months). We enjoy being outdoors, fishing, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family.
Please feel free to contact me at any time. I am very excited and look forward to a wonderful school year at TCU Lonsdale Elementary!
